Course Summary

IBCP students will take a minimum of three courses of study. All of these will be Level 3 courses (A/AS Level equivalent). The courses will be a combination of vocational BTEC qualification (equivalent to up to 3 A Levels, approximately 10 hours of study per week) and 2 IB subjects (approx. AS level each and studied for 5 hours a fortnight). If you select this subject you must also select two IB subjects in your application.

Level 3 Travel & Tourism provides students with an in depth knowledge of the Travel & Tourism industry as well as developing a range of transferable skills (independence, communication, perseverance & self-confidence). The course also covers a range of different sectors including business, management, marketing, hospitality and leisure. Completion of this vocational programme of study will enable students to successfully transition to the next stage of their education or the world of work.

Students will study a range of topics such as the travel & tourism industry, types of destinations, marketing, customer service, enterprise and entrepreneurship, recruitment and selection, working experience and specialist tourism.

A mixture of coursework (Internal Assessment) and exam (External Assessment)

Entry requirements

For entry into King Ethelbert School Sixth Form all students must attain 5 grades between Grade 9 and Grade 4 (or equivalent) with a Grade 5 in both English Language and Mathematics.
