Please be aware that all of our Carpentry courses for the North Kent College, Tonbridge campus from September 2022, will be delivered at our Hadlow College campus in our brand new Carpentry workshop. On this Level 1 Carpentry course, learners will be taught by trade experienced, professional tutors in a well equipped, modern workshop at our Hadlow Campus. The course is a mixture of practical and theory. Students will learn how to work safely in construction, relay information, calculate quantities and communicate with others, building methods and construction technology. They will learn how to make basic woodworking joints, how to maintain and use hand tools and portable power tools. Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

Entry requirements
Minimum GCSE grade 3 in Mathematics and English supported by two at grade 2, one in a science If you don’t have formal qualifications to meet these requirements, we will be able to assess your readiness during the admission process.
