Course Summary
All of your work will follow a vocational scenario or context that simulates a real-world situation. You will present your work in a range of formats. The final assessment is through a ‘Final Major Project’ which will determine your grade for the qualification. A Pass, Merit or Distinction can be achieved.
Course Details
If you have a passion for performing arts and want to develop your skills as a performer, theatre-maker and arts facilitator, this is the course for you. In your training at Miskin Tonbridge you will develop skills and learn about different genres and modes of performance to equip you to develop your own innovative work. Throughout the course you will engage with processes of acting, technical theatre, movement, singing, storytelling and writing for performance. This course enables you to consider and gain experience curating performance events for a range of audiences, particularly within the community settings. These skills will also help your development in teaching, workshop leadership, directing, producing and becoming an all-round performer. Whether it is in front of the curtain or behind the curtain this is the course for you! Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to further develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

Entry requirements
Minimum of four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English and preferably maths and one creative subject. Or an equivalent Level 1 Qualification in Performing Arts at merit or above. You will need a positive school report/recommendation/reference from your school/tutor. You will be required to attend an audition and interview where you will need to prepare one of the following that represent your key strengths: A Monologue Song Technical Theatre Portfolio Piece of choreographed dance A prop, lighting, sound or costume design Theatre Review. The outcome of your audition/interview will be assessed by the directors, and they will let you know if you have been successful.
