About us

Forward2Employment works alongside Fortis Trust to support young people, with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND), in Medway, Kent and the South East, to find permanent and purposeful employment.

We passionately believe that all young people should be given the opportunity to work in their local community, to feel valued and have a place in society.

We provide Supported Internships for young adults and Supported Employment for 19-64 year olds.

Supported Internships are a structured study programme based primarily at a place of employment.

Supported Internships are unpaid, and last for a minimum of six months. Wherever possible, they support the young person to move into paid employment at the end of the programme.

Student support

Our Supported Internships enable young people aged 16-24 with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and a real desire to work, to achieve sustainable paid employment by equipping them with the skills they need for work, through learning in the workplace. Each intern will have the dedicated support of a Job Coach who will provide on the job support and support with independence.

Transport

Our Job Coaches will assist you with developing your travel training skills; leading the intern to become independent travellers.  We also provide support with applying for a variety of passes, including bus and rail cards.

If learning to drive is your dream, we then have a strong partnership with Driving Schools to help you achieve this dream.
