About us
Aylesford School is a popular 11–18 mixed comprehensive located in the heart of Aylesford village. With excellent transport links, modern facilities, and a caring ethos, our small community provides a welcoming environment where every student is known and supported.
Our Sixth Form has around 70 students, allowing us to maintain a strong sense of community and provide personalised support. This includes bespoke one-to-one academic guidance and tailored careers advice. We offer a wide range of challenging A Levels and Level 3 BTEC qualifications, giving students the opportunity to study subjects they enjoy and excel in. Our aim is to help each student build confidence, take responsibility for their learning, and leave us with a clear and ambitious pathway for the future.
Leadership and student voice are at the heart of Sixth Form life. Through our Student Leadership Programme, students can apply for positions such as Head Boy, Head Girl, or Senior Prefect, developing key skills for life beyond school. We actively encourage students to share their ideas, helping shape the Sixth Form experience for everyone.

This equips every student with the knowledge and skills needed to progress successfully into the world of work. Our aim is to help students become self-aware, understand the world of work, and confidently develop and manage a successful career.
All students have access to one-to-one career guidance with our dedicated careers team, led by a qualified careers adviser. These sessions build on students’ prior achievements and help them create clear, realistic plans for the future, while raising aspirations and ambitions.
We also provide workshops and presentations on a wide variety of career pathways. Experts visit the school to deliver group guidance on topics such as apprenticeships, CV writing, interview skills, and workplace expectations. These activities are designed to develop personal, social, and employability skills.
Our annual recruitment fair highlights future progression opportunities, bringing local businesses into school to discuss live vacancies and career options within the local community. Throughout the year, students also benefit from trips to enhance their understanding of different careers, including apprenticeship events and university showcases for Years 12 and 13.
