About us
Welcome to Dane Court Grammar School
We are an ‘Outstanding’ (OFSTED, 2022) mixed sixth form community of approximately 320 students, offering the world class International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) and the IB Career-Related Programme (IBCP).
Many students join us in the sixth form from other local schools as well as from abroad and are fully integrated into the life of the school. The vast majority of Dane Court students stay on into the Sixth Form.
The average points score of Dane Court IBDP students over the last three years is 35 points (equivalent to A*A*A at A level), with 29% of students achieving 38+ points (equivalent to A*A*A*) and 54% of grades 6-7 (equivalent to A*/A). Similarly, 85% of all IBCP vocational course grades were awarded as Distinction*/Distinction in 2024.
These excellent results provide a springboard for students to move on to prestigious universities and apprenticeship destinations. 85% of students gained places at their first-choice university in 2024 with 28% going on to prestigious Russell Group institutions and five students to Oxford and Cambridge.
The Dane Court Sixth Form experience also includes a wide range of extracurricular activities, from specialist programmes for Medicine, Law, Oxbridge and apprenticeships to trips to locations such as Tokyo and Iceland and a host of sport and music clubs.
All Year 12 students complete a week of work experience and receive extensive 1-1 support with university and apprenticeship applications.
IBDP students choose 6 subjects (3 at higher level, 3 at standard level). IBCP students choose one vocational BTEC subject (Business, Sport or Health & Social Care) and 2 or 3 IB subjects. IB Bespoke Course students choose 5-6 subjects from any of the IB groups. Please see our school website for more information.
