About us

Dartford Grammar School is an 11-18 foundation selective school for boys, with a large mixed sixth form, and excellent facilities. It offers a unique combination of high academic achievement and a lively, friendly ethos. With a strong system of pastoral support, it fulfils its mission to be 'A learning community developing global citizens', preparing students, not just for entry to top universities, but for lasting success in a fast-changing world.

Entry Requirements: - A minimum point score of 52 for their best 8 subjects. Students should have a level 5 or above in English and Mathematics. They should have a least a 7 in their proposed IB Diploma higher level subjects. If Mathematics is proposed at higher level, the GCSE mathematics grade must be 8.

How to Apply:

External students - please apply via Applicaa from 21st November 2025, a link will be available on the school website from this date.

Internal students – there is no need to make a formal application.

The sixth form years and the decisions they bring will shape the next phase in your educational journey. Our dedicated Sixth Form team will do everything they can to ensure that you are given the best advice to help in making these decisions. Working alongside this pastoral team is a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable UCAS team.

The school’s mission statement, ‘A learning community developing international citizens’ reflects the purpose of an IB World School; ‘to develop young people who help to create a more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect’ and ‘to encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right’.

As you will see from walking around the school, your son/daughter will benefit from the exciting and new Sixth Form Study Centre, which opened at the start of the last academic year. We now have a facility to rival any contemporary and creative working environment, offering a physical space to match the tremendously talented students it holds.
