About us
Welcome to Leigh Academy Hugh Christie Sixth Form!
Our students are supported to develop ambitious goals and more importantly the daily habits that will ensure they can succeed.
Our students ‘stand on the shoulders of giants’ as we believe that our role is to share with them the most effective strategies they can utilise in their academic journey as well as broader aspects such as how they lead themselves and others, contribute to the community and areas of personal development.
We are systematic in how we teach students best practice in these areas so that being successful in sixth form feels inevitable.
If you are looking for a sixth form that has a warm collegiate environment, responds to your individual interests and provides clarity and structure around the most effective ways to progress then come and visit us to see these values and practices in action!

Community
Sixth Form students are expected to play an active role in not only the Sixth Form community, but the wider school and local community as well. All students take on a Service Learning activity, which could include being part of a social or sports committee, peer mentoring for younger students, supporting a department or participating in an activity outside of school.
Students are encouraged to develop their enterprise skills and have organised visits to Alton Towers, West End theatres, organised their own Christmas party and the ever-popular annual summer prom. We are delighted each year to welcome international students into our Sixth Form. Over the years we have welcomed students from all over the globe, ranging from, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Norway and even as far as Japan and Mexico. It creates many cross-cultural opportunities for both our guests and our own students who benefit tremendously from the experience.
