Welcome to Northfleet School for Girls

Sixth Form at Northfleet School for Girls is rapidly expanding and a new sixth form building opened in January 2022 to accommodate significantly increased numbers. Our academic results continue to improve and we see an above average number of our students progressing onto university as well as a number securing higher level apprenticeships.

The sixth form is built around our whole school vision, which is for students to ‘Dream Big and Achieve.’ This is vision is implemented through:

• A culture of ‘high expectations’, in all that our students do both academically but also through their contributions to the school and wider community.

• ‘Working together’ where the power of students, parents and teachers working together is harnessed to enable students to achieve their potential

• ‘Enjoying the Journey’ whilst academic success is important, we strive for our students to enjoy their time in our sixth form and develop personally, be this through taking on a leadership role, undertaking work experience or through attending school trips.

We have a comprehensive sixth form offer which enables students to select from and combine a number of qualifications to meet their needs.

A levels

We have a substantial suite of successful A level subjects, which allow students to learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by universities and employers. These courses are predominantly assessed through examinations held at the end of two years of study.

Vocational Qualifications

We offer a range of successful vocational qualifications which offer a mix of theory and practical learning and are designed to equip students with the skills required for a specific job or career sector.

International Baccalaureate Careers Related Pathway

We are proud to be able to offer the internationally acclaimed IBCP. The IBCP is recognised by universities across the world and is widely seen as a symbol of academic integrity. It has the academic rigour linked to the IB with the opportunity to study a vocational qualification.

The IBCP is an innovative education pathway that offers a flexible blend of academic and career-related studies. The IBCP aims to develop applicable, transferable lifelong skills that prepare students for higher education, higher level apprenticeships or employment. It includes a minimum of two IB diploma programme subjects and a nationally recognised career-related qualification.
