At Northfleet Technology College we strive to ensure that we provide a high quality educational experience for all our Sixth Form students. We foster a culture of inclusivity and support, whilst encouraging independence and providing room for personal growth and development. Our sixth form students make excellent progress within their exams, but also in developing the wider professional behaviours we know will make our students future leaders in the community through the IBCP and our innovative PQLI programme.

We place great importance on the relationships that the students grow with both their teachers and fellow students. This is fostered by the Sixth Form team, who will monitor their progress and attendance, oversee their personal development and prepare them for the next stage of their lives, whether that is university, college, apprenticeships or the workplace.

We offer a range of courses including a Level 2 pathway for those not quite ready for Level 3 courses, the International Baccalaureate Careers-Related Programme (IBCP) and other high quality vocational courses such as BTEC & RSL.

For students who are interested in the Basketball or Football Academies, students will be recruited according to both their sporting skill and academic ability. Whilst on this pathway, as 'student athletes' students will be expected to complete courses on on of the pathways offered (Level 2, 3 or IBCP). If you wish to apply for a place in the Academy you must email our Head of Academies or speak to staff at the Open Evening. Places on the Academy fill up quickly and trials occur during the year before you may be called in for an interview regarding your academic courses.

• Level 2 Pathway - For students who still need to resit their Mathematics and English Language GCSE's to gain a Grade 4 alongside Level 2 BTECs.
  
• Level 3 Vocational - For students who have gained a grade 4 in their Mathematics and English Language OR English Literature.
• IBCP Programme - For students gaining 5 GCSE's at Grade 4 and above including Mathematics and English Language.
• Sports Academies (Basketball/Football) - For students wishing to pursue Sport professionally alongside their studies. The academy must be taken in addition to one of the other three pathways on offer.

Number of subjects required:

• Level 3 Pathway - Please select three Level 3 courses (BTEC or RSL)
• IBCP Pathway - Please select two IB Diploma courses and two Level 3 Vocational courses (BTEC or RSL)

Each of our students has a dedicated Learning Coach, who will support them through the duration of their courses with both their academic and personal development needs. They will also guide them through our Professional Qualification in Leadership and Initiative programme (PQLI) to help them stand out from the crowd in future University, Apprenticeship and work related interviews. Our aim is to grow our students into the responsible and caring members of society we know they aspire to be through a variety of rewarding work within the school and wider community. We also have a dedicated and experienced Sixth Form Pastoral Support Coordinator who is always on hand to offer help and advise whenever it's needed.

• Well resourced drama studio and performance area, used for a range of public events throughout the year.

Students are expected to make their own way to and from NTC Sixth Form. NTC is accessible using local bus services, and is conveniently accessible from Gravesend, Northfleet and Ebbsfleet train stations.

Funding/transport is not provided by the school, however students eligible to receive the 16-19 Bursary can use this to support transport costs.
