We think it is important to recognise that post 16 education is a journey, and that every student follows their own individual route or path to reach their University future or career of their choice. Throughout their time studying in the Sixth Form students have access to good class sizes, excellent pastoral support, a broad programme of study and comprehensive university, high level apprenticeship, employment advice and guidance. Our curriculum offer enhances students’ personal and interpersonal development, with an emphasis on experiential learning. We encourage our students to be individuals and to take responsibility for their own choices as well as teaching them tolerance and respect towards others. We develop our students to be citizens of the world, to be active, compassionate, life¬long learners and to develop the confidence to know and understand their own worth and purpose.

About us

Leigh Academy Tonbridge is a fast paced and exciting place to study; the teachers are excellent, the students are friendly, the facilities are great and you have the opportunity to develop personally as well as academically. The sixth form aims to provide all students with the experience, skills and qualifications needed for the next challenging stage of their lives.

Leigh Academy Tonbridge has an inclusive sixth form and believes that every student should have the opportunity to study a range of courses that extend their existing skills and allow them to successfully gain entrance into Higher Education or employment.

In addition to an academic journey, some students may benefit from our excellent programme of extra curricular activities and vast range of trips and visits. Our sixth for students have visited Cern, Berlin, Iceland, Malaysia and Thailand in addition to a thorough and expanding programme of opportunities within the UK. Our students are encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh qualification. level 3 Sports leadership qualification as well as opportunities for work experience or volunteering placements throughout the two years. 

Some subjects have additional entry requirements which are identified in the course description. In addition, certain subjects may request that students attend a suitability interview or aptitude test.

Entry requirements are subject to change and entry to the Sixth Form may be considered subject to agreed conditions. We reserve the right to tailor an individual student's programme of study based on their final examination results. The school decision in this matter is final

Leigh Academy Tonbridge has the right to alter specifications or withdraw unviable courses. Decisions about course viability will be made following the closing date for applications. The School will communicate the withdrawal of any courses to parents and students at the earliest opportunity.
