About us
Welcome to The Whitstable School
At The Whitstable School we have developed an innovative and fresh approach to Sixth Form studies, offering a modern and dynamic experience for our students. With a clear commitment to the personal development and well-being of each individual, we support students in selecting a programme which suits their specific strengths, interests and abilities, and provides clear routes of progression for their future. We offer a unique approach in that we build our curriculum around our students. We provide a full range of both vocational and academic courses, as well as a bespoke Level 2 Pathway and a successful Football Academy in partnership with Football Futures and Whitstable Town FC.
About us
Applications for Year 12 must be completed using the Online through Kent choices.
Each student will be invited to interview with the Head of Sixth Form to discuss their chosen learning pathway. All offers of a place in Year 12 will be made on condition of students meeting the school entry requirements. Those applying for a sports academy will also need a successful trial with the provider.
For external applicants, a reference from their previous school will be sought to check suitability in regard to the students’ chosen subject choices. Students will be invited for interview and offered a tour of the subject areas they wish to study. At interview learning pathways and course choices are discussed. All offers of a place in Year 12 will be made on condition of students meeting the school entry requirements.
All students hold conditional offers until receipt of their GCSE results, following confirmation of their results places on appropriate courses are offered according to the entry requirements stated. Guidance will be offered to students who wish to consider a change of learning pathway or subject choice following receipt of their results.
