Young people and parents

Gypsy Roma Traveller Community Hub

How is KentChoices relevant to the Gypsy Roma Traveller (GRT) Community?

  • All young people in Kent and Medway should have the opportunity to access the resources on KentChoices.
  • The information on the website will help young people to think about their education choices and future career.
  • KentChoices allows young people and families to see the opportunities available; such as college, sixth form, training and apprenticeships.
  • Young people and families can find contact details to speak to an adviser about their choices.

If you have received a call from The Education People or the Medway IAG Team, first thing's first, there's no need to worry! We're just checking in on all the 16 to 18 year olds across Kent and Medway to see what you're doing in terms of school, work, or training. We want to make sure everyone's getting the support they need.

This is something we have to do by law on behalf of both councils.

  • For more details on how Kent County Council handle your information, check out their Staying in Touch page.
  • For more details on how Medway Council handle your information, check out their Data protection page

Please be aware that this will not affect any benefits or financial support you or your parents/carers may receive.

Watch the video below to see how a typical phone call normally plays out.
