Course Summary
“The Film Studies course has taught me brilliant skills and offers students a chance to really experience film in a new light”.
Film Studies students at St. Anselm’s Catholic School develop exceptional intellectual, communicative, writing, and creative skills, laying the groundwork for a variety of professional paths, including those that are directly related to the film industry. We have offered Film Studies at our institution for more than thirty years and many students have been motivated to pursue careers in the business both nationally and internationally. Students that study Film typically have a great deal of interest and enthusiasm for this potent and culturally significant medium, which elicits a spectrum of reactions from the thoughtful to the emotional. Our love for inspiring students to analyse, reflect and create has resulted in exceptional student outcomes over the years. Film Studies received an ALPS score of 1 in 2023 and 2024 and an ALPS score of 2 for 2025. This places us in the top 1% in the country for student results over the past three years.
