Course Summary

Geography A level is a subject about the future; it is designed to be topical and relevant, investigating contemporary events affecting the world today. The course develops an awareness of the causes as well as effective solutions to these global issues. The course is designed to be practical with four days fieldwork guaranteed. Geography at A level is a well-regarded qualification. It will allow students to apply for a range of university courses- some specialising in geography such as geology, cartography, GIS and hazard management and others a less specific but very useful qualification in areas such as economic or developmental geography. Environmental issues are also a hugely important growing and employable sector which Geography students can easily access. In the same way apprenticeships and jobs in areas like urban planning and environmental agencies are all made more accessible with Geography A level.
