Accounting T Level

This two-year course will provide you with the opportunity to learn what a career in accounting is likely to involve through a combination of in class learning, work-related projects, and an industry placement.

You will study a range of topics including:
• The business environment
• Careers within the finance and accounting professions
• Regulation • Professionalism and ethics/equality, diversity and inclusion
• Security and risk
• Professional services
• Fundamentals of law
• Fundamentals of financial accounting
• Data driven innovation/analytics and design thinking
• Technology
• Research skills
• Project/change management and administration
• Fundamentals of financial accounting

Year 1: Two written examinations Employer-Set Project (ESP) - a supervised project, devised and set by Pearson. Students will receive marks for Paper 1, Paper 2 and the ESP. These marks will be aggregated to create one grade for the Core Component.

Year 2: Occupation Specialism - a skills related project that synoptically assesses the performance outcome skills and associated underpinning knowledge.

Year 1 & 2 - Industry Placement: At least 315 hours across the two years that is related to accounting - your evidence log will be assessed.

Five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English, Maths and Science.

Achieving this Technical Qualification will provide several progression options. These could include:

• Skilled employment - Payroll Manager, Accounting Technician

• Level 4 Apprenticeships - Professional accountant, Taxation Technician

• Degree related programmes - Accounting and Finance, Business and Accounting
