Entry Requirements: Minimum entry requirements are 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, which MUST include English Language and Mathematics, plus any additional individual subject requirements.

Course Summary
This course develops applied knowledge and practical skills in software development, user experience and design application creation, preparing students for further study or careers in computing, games and digital design sectors.
Students explore how applications are planned, designed, developments and tested across multiple platforms, using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
Core units cover software development models, human-computer interaction, UX/UI principles and legal/ethical considerations in computing.
Students apply their learning through practical assignments in areas such as game development, immersive technologies, website creation, or software engineering.
Course Details
Students will study:
Students must complete five units – two externally assessed units and three NEA units. These include:
Fundamentals of application development.
Developing application software.
Designing and communicating UX/UI solutions.
And two of the following units:
Game development.
Website development.
Immersive technology solution development.
Software development.

Entry requirements
General entry requirements to study Level 3 qualifications at Hillview Sixth Form are Grade 4 or above in both English Language and Maths and in 3 other GCSE subjects.
Subject Specific Criteria:
GCSE Computer Science or Computing/Programming equivalent Grade 4 or above. GCSE Grade 4 in English Language and Maths. An APS of 4.5 or above.
