This is a vocational course, and the focus is split equally between learning content and carrying out practical tasks. The BTEC course gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment in the science sector. Your next steps...
You could take this course to complement other Advanced Level courses that may overlap with Biology such as Sports Science or Child Development. This course supports progression onto some Higher Education courses in science related subjects or more general Higher Education courses. Many students who study through the BTEC route consider a career in research science, or as technicians in industry. However, with the relevant work experience candidates could progress onto careers in management, teaching or higher level research.
