Entry Requirements: - Three Grade 4s and specific to subjects.

Please add three Level 3 courses to your application. These can be a combination of A-Levels, BTEC AAQs or BTEC Extended Certificates. Core Maths must be an additional fourth subject.


Course Summary

The Psychology course provides a comprehensive study of human behaviour, combining scientific inquiry with critical analysis and essay writing skills.

A-Level Psychology provides a versatile set of skills highly valued by universities and employers, including strong critical thinking, research and data analysis, communication and problem-solving abilities as well as understanding human behaviour. These skills are essential for evaluating information and working effectively in diverse fields.

Pupils complete the AS-Level in Year 12 before moving onto build on this in Year 13 for the full A-Level.

• Research Methods

Component 3: Issues and Options in Psychology

• Issues and Debates in Psychology

• Relationships or Gender or Cognition and Development

• Schizophrenia or Eating Behaviour or Stress

• Aggression or Forensic Psychology or Addiction


How will it be delivered and assessed?

HOW THIS COURSE IS ASSESSED:

3 x two-hour exams at the end of Year 13. There will also be the opportunity to sit exams at the end of Year 12 to achieve the AS-Level (2 x one hour 30-minute papers).


Entry requirements

Grade 5 in GCSE Maths or

Grade 5 in GCSE Biology or

Grade 5 in GCSE Psychology.
