Barbering Studies Diploma Level 2

This qualification aims to provide you with a range of essential and practical skills and knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the barbering industry.

This course covers all the core skills you need to progress to further learning and training, or to enter the world of work within the barbering industry. You will study the following mandatory content:

• Follow health and safety practice in the salon
• Salon reception duties
• Create an image based on a theme within the hair and beauty sector
• Display stock to promote sales in a salon
• Working in the hair industry
• Client consultation for hair services
• Shampoo and condition the hair and scalp
• Cut men’s hair
• Cut facial hair
• Styling men’s hair
• Promote products and services to clients in a salon

You will work with local employers who contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. The different ways in which centres could support your learning, by working with both local and national barbering businesses, include; structured work-experience or work-placements within their business and your attendance at classes or lectures given by industry experts.

• A Service Portfolio including evidence of practical service carried out with proficiency.
• Graded Practical Assessment and external exams.

A Minimum Of 4 GCSEs At Grades 2/3 And Above And A Genuine Interest In The Hair Industry.

Upon successful completion, you will be qualified to work in several employment destinations such as: barber shops, hairdressing salons, hotels or cruise ships.
