Course Details
During the 1 year course, learners will have the opportunity to develop their essential life skills such as communication, numeracy and IT skills whilst also attending additional sessions to help improve their employability. With a successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma in Basic Construction Skills learners will have the opportunity to apply for a foundation course in any one of the four core trades. The four core trades are: Carpentry, Painting and Decorating, Ceramic Tiling and Brickwork. Course attendance will be two days a week with a possible choice of Mon-Tue or Thur-Fri to help cater for learners who are actively seeking part time work experience. Our Study Programme includes opportunities for you to develop your English and Maths skills as required. You may be expected to complete either functional skills or GCSE qualifications as part of your course depending on your GCSE results.

Entry requirements
Grade 2 in Mathematics and English. Each learner will be interviewed before being accepted onto the course.
