General Entry Requirements:

Our level 3 Sixth Form entry requirements are five GCSEs at Grades 9-4 including Maths and English minimum Grade 4. However, please read the course information, which, provides specific details of course content and entry requirements.

For level 2 courses please read the course information.

Level 3 - Year 12 are expected to study the equivalent of three subjects. Chose one from blocks W/X/Y/Z. If you wish to apply to the Football Academy, please also add this.

Level 2 - just add the course required, eg beauty, hair, finance or fitness.

Additional optional qualifications such as Arts Award (Gold),Core Maths, Further Maths and the EPQ are not applied for at the Kent Choice stage further information will be provided in the 6th Form induction if you would like to undertake this course in addition to your core qualifications.

The primary outcome of the VTCT Skills Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services is to confirm your competence in the job role of nail technician. All the units in this qualification relate directly to the specific job role of a nail technician.

The VTCT Skills Level 3 Award in Media Make-Up is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills and media make-up techniques.

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services is a job ready qualification based on National Occupational Standards (NOS). This qualification will provide you with the knowledge, understanding and skills to work competently as an advanced practitioner in the nail industry. Throughout this qualification you will monitor procedures to safely control work operations, and enhance and maintain nails using UV gel, liquid and powder.

The VTCT Skills Level 3 Award in Media Make Up is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills and media make-up techniques. You will learn to use latex, liquid blood and other coloured cosmetics to create different character and casualty effects. You will also learn about applying small prosthetic pieces such as ear tips, chins and noses. Colour theory and presenting your ideas via a mood board are significant elements of this qualification.

Practical assessments, assignments, and a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your skills and knowledge in media make-up and nail techniques.

No formal qualifications are required.

Progress to Level 3 qualifications in Media Make-Up, Beauty Therapy or Nail Services, apprenticeships, or employment within the beauty, cosmetics, theatre, television and fashion industries.
