Entry Requirements - Admissions into LAE6 are based on candidates successfully meeting our entry requirements of at least five good passes in GCSE subjects (grade 4 or above), including at least a grade 4 in Maths and English, and grade 6 or better in the subjects they wish to study.

Studying Applied Law provides students with a practical understanding of the legal system and its impact on individuals and businesses. The course equips students with analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, which are highly valued in higher education and the workplace. It offers insights into how laws are created, applied, and interpreted, preparing students for further study or careers in law-related fields

Unit 1: Dispute Solving in Civil Law

Focuses on how civil disputes are resolved, including the role of courts and alternative dispute resolution methods.

Unit 2: Investigating Aspects of Criminal Law and the Legal System

Covers the principles of criminal liability and the workings of the criminal justice system.

Unit 3: Applying the Law

Students learn to apply legal principles to real-life scenarios, focusing on criminal law and tort law.

Unit 6: Contract Law(Optional Unit)

Explores the formation, terms, and breach of contracts. Students study various aspects of contract law, including offer, acceptance, consideration, and remedies for breach

Two externally assessed units and two internally assessed units.

Ideal for students who are interested in understanding the legal framework that governs society. Successful students will have strong analytical skills and an interest in current affairs. They should be comfortable with reading complex texts and constructing well-reasoned arguments.

Admissions into EA6 are based on candidates successfully meeting our entry requirements of at least 5 good passes in GCSE subjects (grade 4 or above). This includes achieving at least a grade 4 in Maths and English. If there are any specific grade entry requirements for this subject, they will be listed below.

Law: 5 in English language or 5 in history
