Course Summary
The music course offers students an opportunity to develop their skills as musicians whilst learning skills that are key to being successful in the industry.
Through the course students will improve their understanding of music theory, understanding professional practices in the industry, they will develop an understanding of the skills required to be a session musician and will be improving their performance skills as part of a group.

Unit 1 – Practical music theory and harmony
Unit 2 - Professional practice in the music industry
Unit 3 - Ensemble Music Performance
Unit 5 - Music Performance Session Styles
How will it be delivered and assessed?
All units are done as controlled assessments in class, with Unit 2 and Unit 3 being sent off for external marking
Entry requirements
Students must be able to play an instrument. Students do not need to have taken Music at GCSE
