Course Summary
How would you like to be the next successful entrepreneur? Or perhaps have work your way up a multi-national company or have a career in leadership and management? BTEC in Business will give you an amazing insight into the real world of business. This course will enable you to start one of the many different career paths to work within the business sector. These include management, HR, finance, marketing and business information management, with the opportunity to work both in the UK and internationally. The BTEC National Extended Certificate in Business is for students wanting to continue their education through applied learning, and who aim to progress to higher education and ultimately to employment, possibly in the business sector. There is a combination of examined and coursework units that you will complete over the two years.
Course Details
The Extended Certificate is for learners who are interested in learning about the business sector alongside other fields of study, with a view to progressing to a wide range of higher education courses, not necessarily in business-related subjects.
The qualification consists of four units across the two years, three of which are mandatory and two external.
The units are:
Unit 1: Exploring Business
Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign
Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance
Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection Process.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Internal Assessment takes the form of two coursework units, one of which is mandatory and one of which is optional. This constitutes 42% of the final grade
External Assessment consists of one exam and one controlled assessment and constitutes 58% of the final grade.
Entry requirements
5 GCSE including Maths and English at Grade 4.
