Course Summary

An academic study of how businesses operate on a local, national and international scale. Real business examples are used to enable all students to grasp the reality of businesses in the modern world.

Course Details

The A Level is structured into four themes:

Theme 1 Marketing and people

Theme 2 Managing business activities

Theme 3 Business decisions and strategy

Theme 4 Global business.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

There are three externally assessed papers at A-Level. Each paper comprises 100 marks and is two hours in duration. Data response questions are short answer and extended open response. A-Level Paper 3 has a broad pre-released context to support the investigative nature of the qualification.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE grades at 4 or above including a 5 in Business, Maths & English. If Business has been studied before then a 5 (or Merit) is essential.
