Course Summary

This construction course is designed for learners who want to learn a variety of basic practical skills in Construction Craft trades. You should be interested in the construction industry and/or developing some home DIY skills, if this is you, then this is the starting point.

  • Introduction to health and safety in construction
  • Constructing half brick return corners
  • Introduction to the construction industry
  • Laying block paving
  • Laying paving using slabs
  • Painting and wallpapering
  • Applying wallpaper
  • Painting a panel door
  • Constructing one brick walling
  • Laying underground domestic drainage
  • Mixing and using concrete

Entry requirements

Available for 16-18 years old, not in training and education (and 16-24 with an EHCP).
