Course Summary

Course Details

Students will explore key aspects of media production, including pre-production planning, technical production skills, and the analysis of a range of film texts. The course provides insight into how media products are created and the processes behind them. It culminates in the creation of a short film, which students can produce individually or as part of a team. Key units include an online exam on media representation, a controlled assessment in response to a media commission, and internally assessed units on media pre-production and film production.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment is a combination of internal and external methods, with grades awarded as Pass, Merit, Distinction, or Distinction*. Two units are assessed internally through coursework, while the remaining two are externally assessed—one via an online exam and one through a set brief.
