A Levels: 5 GCSEs at grade 5-9, including English and mathematics

Applied General Qualifications : 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9, including English and mathematics

Chelsea FC and Kent Crusaders Basketball Instructions:

Students must choose three (3) different subject options from three different Option Blocks (you cannot choose the same subject more than once). If a student is selecting the Chelsea FC or Kent Crusaders options, they will need to pick 3 A Levels/BTECS to study alongside this. Students should ensure they are predicted or have achieved grades that meet the entry criteria for chosen options by consulting the UKAT Sixth Form Course booklet. The blocking structure can be amended dependent on course sign up and other timetabling factors.

Course Summary


Course Details

This course is ideal for students with a passion for dance, drama, or both. Students will be provided a practical, skills-based approach to learning and is designed for those who want to continue their education through applied, hands-on experiences. Students will develop their technical performance skills, explore creative processes, and learn how to reflect critically on their work and the work of others. The course offers a broad introduction to the performing arts industry, focusing on core knowledge and transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, creativity, and confidence—valuable across a wide range of career paths. It is well suited to learners who enjoy performing and want to enhance their stagecraft while gaining an understanding of the wider industry context.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Assessment is divided across four units, with two assessed internally and two externally. Students are regularly evaluated through a mix of practical performances and written assignments. Grades are awarded as Pass, Merit, Distinction, or Distinction*.

Entry requirements

Grade 9-4 in five GCSE’s including a grade 5 or level 2 merit in Dance, Drama or Performing Arts.

The qualification carries between 16 and 56 UCAS points and supports progression to higher education or employment. It can lead to careers in performance, teaching, arts administration, and other fields where creativity and communication are essential.
