Course Summary
If you want to work in early years and gain knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years of age with applied knowledge in the early years, 0-5 years.
If you have a passion for working with young children to help and support them in their early years.
Course Details
This course includes studying a range of topics including:
- Roles and responsibilities of the Early Years Practitioner
- Health and safety of babies and young children in the early years
- Equality, diversity and inclusive practice in Early Years settings
- Safeguarding, protection and welfare of babies and young children in Early Years settings
- Understand how to support children’s development
- Support care routines for babies and young children including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
- Promote play and support the planning and delivery of activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes
- Support well-being of babies and young children for healthy lifestyles
- Promote positive behaviour in Early Years settings
- Partnership working in the early years
- Support the needs of the child in preparing for school
You will complete 250 hours over the year in settings with babies and young children.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed in a variety of ways through direct observations in the workplace and written assignments.
Entry requirements
A range of 3/2 grades at GCSE.
