Course Summary
This course is designed to support students with their English Language development. You will be able to take this course if you have not achieved a grade 3 or above in GCSE English.
Course Details
This course will help you gain skills and confidence in English. It will help you to prepare for GCSE English, further study and future employment.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Reading: 45-minute assessment in class which includes understanding the main points of text and showing how you can obtain specific information through detailed reading.
Writing: 50-minute assessment in class which includes planning, drafting and organising writing, and showing how you sequence writing logically and clearly.
Speaking, Listening and Communication: A teacher-assessed activity where you show you can follow the main points of discussion and use techniques to clarify and confirm understanding.
Entry requirements
A range of 3-1 grades or no GCSE qualifications.
