This course involves the study of linguistics and English literature.

Course Details

This two-year A Level course involves the study of how language makes meaning through various forms of communication, including linguistics (the scientific study of language) and literature (poetry, prose and plays). Students will learn how to analyse a range of English language texts and they will produce their own creative and evaluative writing in response to set briefs. It is assessed through two written exams at the end of the second year and one piece of independent coursework.

This two-year A Level course is assessed over two written exams and one independent project.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE or equivalent grade 4 or above, including a grade 5 in English Language and English Literature.
