Course Summary

Studying for an EPQ provides you with both additional UCAS points and prepares you for independent study at university.

Course Details

Completing your EPQ will allow you to develop your time management skills. You will study for your EPQ in Year 12 and it is a good idea to choose a project that is related to the subject that you intend to study at university.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

The EPQ is a 5000-word independent research project on a topic of your choice. You will also have to present your research project once you have completed your written report.

The EPQ is divided into four areas:

1. Manage

2. Use resources

3. Develop and realise

4. Review

You will receive an A* - E grade and the EPQ does have UCAS points attached to it.

Entry requirements

Grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths

Your next steps...

This is a new course at Towers Sixth Form. The EPQ will strengthen university applications and

some universities will give students and alternative offer to an application based on their EPQ

grade
