Course Details
The course offers students exceptional opportunity to gain hands on experience to develop their practical skills in horse husbandry. The two-year course builds skills such as yard management, diet and nutrition, and organising events. Students are required, as part of this course, to undertake external work experience and perform duties on the College Yard. Within the study programme students will undertake the learning of knowledge, skills and behaviours aligned to the BHS Stage 1 and 2 Care & Ride qualification. Students who reach the appropriate BHS standards can undertake the assessment within the academic years. Achievement of BHS qualifications is subject to an additional registration, assessment and certification fee which will require self-funding by all students.
