Course Details

The AQA French A Level covers a wide range of engaging themes, including social issues, cultural topics, political trends, and artistic expression in French-speaking countries.
You will study two works of French literature or cinema, learn how to present and defend your ideas in discussions and essays, and undertake an Independent Research Project on a topic of your choice. Assessment includes two exams testing listening, reading, translation, and essay writing, plus an oral exam that includes a discussion and a presentation based on their research.

Entry requirements

General entry requirements: Grade 4 in English Language and Maths together with 3 other GCSE grades at grade 4 or above is the minimum requirement to enter Hillview Sixth Form.

Subject Specific Criteria:

Grade 6 or above in GCSE French. GCSE English Language and Maths at grade 4 or above. APS 4.75 or above.
