Course Summary

This is an opportunity to retake the English language GCSE (9-1 grades). This course can be taken in combination with level 3 courses if you have a grade 4 in GCSE mathematics and qualify for the level 3 courses you wish to study.

EXCITING NEWS: From September 2026, we are offering a level 2 pathway for students that need to boost their GCSEs before they can start level 3 study.

These vocational courses are specifically designed for students aged 16+. The pathway lasts one year for students who have not yet qualified for Level 3 study. Students would then have the option to stay on to level 3 study at our sixth form or to apply elsewhere.

  • If you are retaking GCSE English language AND GCSE Mathematics, you must choose TWO level 2 courses.
  • If you are retaking either GCSE English language OR GCSE Mathematics, AND you don't qualify for level 3 study, you will take all three.

Options include:

  • CTEC Digital Media
  • NCFE Sports Coaching
  • BTEC Certificate in Work Skills
