Entry Requirements: Some courses have additional entry requirements. These can be found on the prospectus.
Level 3 - 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or higher including English and Mathematics.
Transition - 5 GCSEs at grade 3 or higher. Either English or Mathematics must be at a grade 4.

Course Summary
Why study this subject?
Many employers and colleges will require you to have Mathematics GCSE at grade 5 or above. Students who achieve this will have a wider variety of options available to them which may include access to advanced level courses or employment. As a Transition Year student it is likely that you will want to progress to A levels in Year 13. Having a good pass in GCSE Mathematics will help you with this.
Course Details
Units that will be studied
You will be required to study this for the whole year, as it is hoped that you will deepen you knowledge and skills significantly and improve your grade significantly at the end of Year 12. The course is structured around a revision based approach using gap analysis from your year 11 examination. The final term will be spent in preparation for the exam and revisiting previously studied material. This course will be assessed by three external exam papers sat at the end of the year.

This course is part of the current STS transition package, you cannot apply for this course. This is what may be offered if you are excepted onto the Transition pathway.
