Course Summary

This course will introduce you to a variety of experiences that explore a range of digital Art skills, processes and techniques.

You will explore the use of Digital methods to compliment traditional art techniques to create responses to a brief. You will use both an E sketchbook and physical Sketchbook to Experiment and develop ideas towards professional standard final outcomes. You will explore relevant Artists, techniques and resources relating to all areas of Digital art finally focussing on one or more area(s) of A level Graphic communication, such as illustration, advertising, packaging design, communication graphics, branding and concept design for film and television.

Course Details

This course comprises two units, both of which are mandatory and both of which are assessed internally and moderated externally.

Units (Mandatory)
Unit 1 Portfolio that shows development of understanding and skills. (60%). Internally assessed and externally
Unit 2 Externally set assignment, with preparatory period from February 1st. (40%). Intrenally assessed and moderated externally.

Internally assessed and externally moderated (60%)

Nonexam assessment over 15 hours, internally assessed and externally moderated (40%)

Entry requirements

GCSE at Grade 5+ or BTEC/NCFE at Merit+ in an artistic discipline, as well as Grade 5 in GCSE English. Candidates without a Level 2 qualification in an artistic discipline will be considered through interview.
