Hairdressing Studies Diploma Level 3

This qualification aims to provide you with a range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training within the Hairdressing industry.

There is a Hairdressing kit and uniform for this course.

This qualification covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for working in the hairdressing industry:

• Monitor and maintain health and safety practices in the salon

• Hairdressing consultation support for colleagues

• Cut women’s hair to create a variety of looks • Style and dress hair using a variety of techniques

• Colour hair to create a variety of looks

• Promote and sell products and services to clients

• Creative hairdressing design skills

You will work with local employers who will contribute to the knowledge and delivery of training. Employers will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible, work placements will also be provided. This practical-based training is ideal preparation for gaining employment in the hairdressing industry or progressing onto specialist further study.

• A service portfolio including evidence of practical service carried out with proficiency.

• Graded practical assessments in which you will carry out a service on a client. The service will be assessed by center assessors.

• External examinations will test your knowledge and understanding from across the whole vocational area.

This qualification could lead to employment in a hair salon, spa, cruise ship, or hotel hair salon.
