You will master three core, mandatory units that lay a solid foundation for your future studies:

Human Lifespan and Development: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social (PIES) development.

Human Biology and Health: Delve into the fascinating world of the human body, physiological functioning, and examine the impact of common disorders—all essential knowledge for any health professional.

Health and Social Care Practice: Learn how to apply ethical and effective practice in real-world settings.

The qualification has three mandatory units covering the following topics:

Human Lifespan and Development – PIES and factors affecting growth and development

Human Biology and Health – Human body structure and systems

Health and Social Care Practice.

One other topic will be chosen between:

Health, Social Policy and Wellbeing – Public health policies

Promoting Health Education – Health education

Safe Environments in Health and Social Care – provisions in services

Health Science – Types of infections and their potential impact on a local, national and international scale.

Students will require a minimum of five GCSEs grade 4+ including Maths and English Language.

By completing the Health and social care AAQ Level 3 Extended Certificate, you will be well-equipped to pursue a rewarding career in the health care sector.

Whether it is as a nurse, social worker, midwife or an occupational therapist this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to pursue your career.
