Course Summary

The BTEC National in Health and Social Care is a vocational qualification that will help prepare you for a wide range of careers or for further study on a range of degree programmes.

Course Details

In your BTEC National in Health and Social Care, you will be studying a wide range of units, which will help you to gain skills that will be valuable in your chosen profession or future study. You will learn about the human body and how it changes over time. You will also learn about what it means to work in the sector and what skills and behaviours you will need to demonstrate.

You will complete the following units on this course:
• Principles of safe practice when working in the sector
• The importance of respecting the individual differences
• Needs of service users
• Nutritional health.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will complete internally assessed coursework and externally assessed examinations.

Entry requirements

Grade 4 in 3-5 GCSEs including Grade 4 in English or Maths
