All students need to meet the following criteria to gain a place in Year 12 at The School of Science and Technology Maidstone:

  • Achieve 32 points across their eight best GCSE subjects
  • A minimum grade 4 in Mathematics and English (Language or Literature)

Course Summary

A Level History at SST, builds on your understanding of the past through experiencing a broad & balanced course of study. The advanced study of History will further develop your interest & enthusiasm for the discipline by understanding its intrinsic value & significance it holds in helping you understand the current world. A Level History compliments future studies in the Arts, Anthropology, Humanities, Social Sciences, & Law faculties at university. Experience of independent research & critical analysis skills are looked upon favourably by a wide range of employers, for example those in Journalism, Psychology, Philosophy, Economics, Law, Politics & Diplomacy, Social Care, Archaeology & Museum curation.
