Course Summary

There are two externally assessed units with the remaining units conducted internally. Students will be required to write assignments, and for some units perform role plays, and present their work to the peers as part of a team or individually.

Course Details

This course is designed to inspire and enthuse learners to consider a career in the Hospitality sector. It will give learners the opportunity to gain broad knowledge and understanding of, and develop skills in, the hospitality industry, such as:

- marketing and promotion,

- cooking,

- food and beverage service,

- accommodation service,

- or finance.

The aim is to support students in their progression to specialised Level 3 qualifications in Hospitality. Ultimately, the course will give learners the potential opportunity, in due course, to enter employment in a wide range of job roles. It aims to give learners opportunities to develop transferable skills related to study and vocational application that provide a platform for success both within Hospitality and elsewhere.

Entry requirements

4 GCSE's at grade 3 or above Students aged between 16-18 will only be considered for this course.

Your next steps...

Progression onto the CTH L3 Foundation Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Course Main - Introductory roles within the Hospitality industry, or Apprentice level Secondary - Ideally, learners should progress onto the Level 3 course before considering employment. However, career roles such as front of house operations, customer service and event planning may be an option at an entry level for those of legal age to do so.
