Application Instructions
- Level 2 Pathway - For students who still need to resit their Mathematics and English Language GCSE's to gain a Grade 4 alongside Level 2 BTECs.
- Level 3 Vocational - For students who have gained a grade 4 in their Mathematics and English Language OR English Literature.
- IBCP Programme - For students gaining 5 GCSE's at Grade 4 and above including Mathematics and English Language.
- Sports Academies (Basketball/Football) - For students wishing to pursue Sport professionally alongside their studies. The academy must be taken in addition to one of the other three pathways on offer.
Number of subjects required:
- Level 3 Pathway - Please select three Level 3 courses (BTEC or RSL)
- IBCP Pathway - Please select two IB Diploma courses and two Level 3 Vocational courses (BTEC or RSL)

Course Summary
IB Digital Society - Equivalent to 0.5 A Level
We are (in) a digital society. Digital systems are changing our world and transforming how we think, communicate, collaborate and create.
This course invites you to better understand this changing world and to imagine where we might go next. As partners in inquiry, students and teachers explore the impacts and implications of digital systems for people and communities in diverse real-world contexts.

How will it be delivered and assessed?
The course is assessed through internal assessment (30%) and external assessment (70%)
Internal Assessment - Inquiry project (30 hours)
Students conduct an inquiry into impacts and implications of digital systems for people and communities. The submission requirements for the project include:
- an inquiry process document not to exceed 1500 words
- a recorded multimedia presentation that does not exceed 10 minutes
- a list of references.
External Assessment - 2 exams taken at the end of year 2
- Paper 1 (1 hr 30 mins) - Four structured questions that address the syllabus and real-world examples in an integrated way. Students answer two of four structured questions.
- Paper 2 (1 hr 15 min) - Four source-based questions that address the common SL and HL syllabus in an integrated way. Sources may include text, audio, visuals, data, diagrams and/or infographics. Students answer all four questions.
Entry requirements
Grade 4+ in 5 GSCEs including English Language, and Maths
Preferred BTEC ICT or GCSE computing
