Course Summary

Mathematics applications and Interpretation has an emphasis on applications of mathematics and statistical techniques. It is designed for students with varied mathematical backgrounds and abilities. It prepares students to be able to solve problems in a variety of settings, to develop more sophisticated mathematical reasoning and to enhance their critical thinking.

Topic 3: Geometry & Trigonometry

Topic 4: Statistics & Probability

Topic 5: Calculus

Project

The project is an individual piece of work involving the collection of

information or the generation of measurements, and the analysis

and evaluation of the information or measurements.


How will it be delivered and assessed?

This qualification is made up of 80% external assessment split

between two equal weighted exam papers (both require a graphical

calculator) and 20% internally assessed project.

Please note that this is a Standard Level Course, worth the equivalent of half an A Level


Entry requirements

5+ GCSE 9-4 grades

Grade 5, preferably 6 in Mathematics
