Level 3 Courses - select a minimum of 3 courses to study

Level 2 Courses - select 1 course only as each course is studied on a full time basis.

LAMDA Group Examinations are designed to develop the skills necessary to communicate a dramatic text to an audience. Each exam is worth UCAS points. The exams are completely practical.

Learners who prepare themselves appropriately will develop:

Interpretative skills

• explore style, character, subtext and context
• engage with character and situation in order to create a sense of reality

Technical skills

• build skills in voice, diction and movement

Interactive Skills

• create relationships between characters
  
• share responsibility for the performance in order to communicate as a group

Performance from memory of one scene from a published play written during one of the following periods: Ancient Greek and Roman (500BC – 4BC) or Elizabethan and Jacobean (1558–1625)

Performance of a second scene from a play published post-2000

Learners will be able to discuss voice and breathing techniques used in their performances.

Performance of a second scene from a play published 1800 - 2000

Performance of a second scene from a play published post-2000.

Learners must discuss the writing styles of each playwright and the world of each play.

Learners will discuss their chosen characters as well as the techniques of a chosen theatrical practitioner

Assessment – All performance exams are in front of a LAMDA examiner

Minimum of five 9-4 grades in GCSE examinations including English and Maths.
