Bring your ideas to life using professional software, building characters, environments and visuals that form the foundation of your own games. You’ll explore how landscapes are designed and how different elements come together to create immersive game worlds.
Discover how AI and robotics are used in games to make them more engaging and responsive. You’ll experiment with how games react to players, gaining insight into the technology behind modern gameplay experiences.
Test, refine and improve your work as you playtest your own creations, learning how to develop ideas through feedback – just like in the real industry.
You will develop skills in:
• Creating original game concepts
• Character and environment design
• Using professional digital design software
• Understanding AI and robotics in games
• Gameplay development and playtesting
• Creative problem solving and idea development
Throughout the course, you’ll build a portfolio of work that shows your progress and creativity, helping you take the next step onto a Level 3 course.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed through multiple projects that will build your creative skills. You will develop and workshop ideas during group projects, presentations and written assignments, whilst also showcasing the skills you’ve learnt within practical production work.
You’ll build an impressive portfolio throughout the course, with each project giving you the chance to experiment, refine your skills and create games that meet real industry standards.
