Course Summary

This course offers students an insight into the health and social care world. Exploring different avenues of care alongside the legislation and regulations around different settings. students will develop an understanding of sexual health, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, equality and diversity, health and safety and building positive relationships. Students will be able to use digital skills to complete coursework and be able to build relationships with others through scenario based activities in coursework units.

Course Details

Students will sit two exams in year 12 and one in year 13 and one piece of coursework in year 12 and two pieces of coursework in year 13. Students units will cover:

This course is excellent for a student who likes to be assessed in a variety of ways, not just through exams. You will have regular deadlines and directions from staff which allows you to develop an excellent work ethic for life. You also get an opportunity to resist exams which decreases pressure. This qualification also offers an opportunity to boost UCAS points if you are looking to get entry into a university after 6th form.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

Students will be assessed by examinations (50%) and coursework (50%) this is equivalent to 6 units.
