Course Details

Please be aware that all of our Motor Vehicle courses for the North Kent College, Tonbridge campus from September 2022, will be delivered at our Hadlow College campus in our brand new Motor Vehicle workshops. The Foundation Learning programme is aimed at young people who have not reached a GCSE pass grade in English or Maths, or have not yet achieved the qualifications to start a Level 1 Diploma programme. It delivers a well supported course that may also include an introductory vocational option of studying towards a relevant qualification. This course will provide opportunities for young people to gain qualifications in Functional Skills in English and Maths. These are qualifications that will enable progression to a higher level course, an apprenticeship or work. Students who join this programme may benefit from support with learning difficulties. A vocational choice will be discussed with students to establish the individual career path options. Curriculum support workers assist with young people in a mentoring capacity to provide guidance and support with various issues that affect young people to provide a suitable programme for their needs.
