Entry Requirements:
All students need to meet the following criteria to gain a place in Year 12 at The School of Science and Technology Maidstone:
- Achieve 32 points across their eight best GCSE subjects
- A minimum grade 4 in Mathematics and English (Language or Literature)

Course Summary
A BTEC in Music is a great choice for learners looking for a practical and creative qualification. The course aims to provide learners with the relevant skills and knowledge that employers value, as well as the confidence to progress into a fulfilling, exciting career in a creative industry.
What to expect
The content of this qualification has been developed in consultation with academics to ensure that is supports progression to higher education. In addition, employers and professional bodies have been involved and consulted to confirm that the content is appropriate and consistent with current practise should learners choose to enter employment directly in the music sector. The qualification provides the knowledge skills and understanding that will prepare learners for further study or training.
How does the qualification provide employability and technical skills?
